Inevitability:

Noun. The quality or state of being impossible to avoid or evade.
As in the inevitability of living with a one year old...

Here's sweet jellybean playing:

Here's the room less than 20 minutes later:

I once read a blog post showing a similar mess and stating that it was a "happy mess". There is comfort in semantics.

I accept the inevitable mess now, knowing I'll miss it when she is grown and gone.

Have a Happy Day!

  1. I really can relate because I have 2 granddaughters 3 & 2 and it doesn't take long for them to make a "Happy Mess" when I have the privilege of watching them. Enjoy the time you have with your children.(sounds like you do) and I hope they live close when they are grown so you can play again with your grand babes. It is the most fun time! You have a Happy Day!

  2. Enjoy your "happy mess." It'll be all over before you know it. Of course, I've had those kind of messes going around for 14 years now. My oldest is 14 and my youngest is almost two and there are 4 more in between. I should be the "happiest" mom alive!

  3. I can totally relate. I have a three year old and we are slowly training her to put her stuff away, but it is an up hill battle. I sometimes day dream about when I had a nice, neat, adult house. Then I step on a lego.
